New Ownership Team Takes South Shore Controls to the Next Level
Team of investors seeks to expand operations, starting with new state-of-the-art facility
Mentor, OH – South Shore Controls, Inc. is under new ownership, which looks forward to taking it to the next level, beginning with building a new state-of-the-art facility in Mentor.
The new ownership consists of an investor group led by John Ovsek and Chris Weinkamer. The team brings more than 43 years of Tier 1 manufacturing and machine tool sales expertise, which it will utilize to help grow the company.
“South Shore Controls was founded by two brilliant men who did an impressive job of growing the company using only word of mouth,” Ovsek said. “Our team is eager to use its manufacturing experience to implement processes and procedures to build on what the company’s founders have achieved through strategic, steady expansion, starting with our new facility.”

Selling Smarts at South Shore Controls
South Shore Controls is selling its brains, though this isn’t some insidious black-market scheme.
Instead, the factory automation company is marketing the robust skill set that helped it expand into a new facility in Mentor last fall.
“We have more engineers here than we do workers on the shop floor,” explained vice president John Ovsek. “It’s a very educated crew coming up with solutions to make a customer’s line more efficient.”
